🌱 Grow Tree, Grow Community: Free Agroforest Trees for Micronesian Families on Hawaiʻi Island🌴

We are excited to launch the Grow Tree Grow Community Project—an inspiring new initiative that brings together the U.S. Forest Service, the Kaulunani Urban Forestry Program (DLNR Hawai‘i), and Micronesians United–Big Island (501c3) to support Micronesian (COFA) families in growing stronger, more resilient communities through the power of trees.

This project will purchase and distribute agroforest trees—like breadfruit, coconut, banana, and other culturally and nutritionally important species—to Micronesian households across Hawai‘i Island. These trees not only strengthen food security and climate resilience, but they also reconnect us with our island traditions and deep-rooted knowledge of land and community care.
