Conference for Service Providers to Understand Micronesian Youth & Families

Micronesians United – Big Island (MU-BI) and the Hawaii County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney have teamed up to hold a workshop entitled, “Serving Youth and Families:  Culture, Family Dynamics, & Social Etiquette” on Friday, September 12, 2014, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm at Imiloa. The conference is aimed at informing service providers who provide government services to citizens of the Freely Associated States (FAS) of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Republic of Palau (ROP), and the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI). Members of the MU-BI board will serve as panelists. Micronesia Games 2014 – Info Meeting in Hilo

Bill Sakovich, long-time swim coach at Waiakea High School and supporter of athletic competitions in the Pacific will hold an informational meeting to discuss possible ways to recruit our Hawaii-based athletes to compete in the upcoming Micronesia Games in Pohnpei on July 20 – 29, 2014. This meeting is ideal for interested parents, community leaders, athletes, coaches from Micronesia, Palau, Marshall Islands who wish to know more about these opportunities for our Hawaii-based youth.
